Squirrely Challenge - Easel Card

This summer a couple friends and I have decided to get back to our Squirrely Challenges - this time around we all had some imput into what the challenges will be.  First up is to make an easel card.  Although there are some fabulous dies out on the market today to make these fun cards we challenged ourselves to do it the "old fashioned way".  I wanted to try something new to mix it up so I made a round card!  Fun to decorate it up with the Stamps of Life stamps and die set --- hot4balloons!
Here you can see the side view to give you an idea how they go together.  I made a round card base by die cutting a folded piece of cardstock with a round die, making sure to leave one part of the die hanging over the cardstock to leave the fold in place.  Then Scalloped die pieces were attached and the decorating began!

What have you challenged yourself to recently?

Oh you clever Squirrel! You rocked this one. Brilliant way to make the easel and such a darling card. It's perfect for the balloon stamps and dies. Really like the clouds also. Awesome.

Oh, gosh, I love everything about this card. The shape. The embossing. The balloons, especially. And your color choices. Great challenge.
